Guest Book Reviews
It is always a delight to get feedback from our guests here at Valley View Farm, so we thought that we would share some of the feedback we have been given.
“Beautiful location, cottage clean and comfortable. The setting for these cottages is ideal if you want peace and quiet. It is a bit remote but as long as you have transport that is not a problem just remember to stock up while you are out as there is not a local shop! The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and comfy. Well equipped kitchen. Lots to see and do in Yorkshire. Whitby abbey is a must see and the James Herriott museum in Thirsk is great especially for children. Also for a great and FREE outing , Yorkshire Lavender is a great place to visit. Stunning scenery and the wonderful frangrance of lavender , also great cream teas. We hope to stay here again."
“Very comfortable. Thank you for a lovely stay at your cottages. It was nice to back after a long day and have a comfortable place to stay."
"Wonderful, comfortable accommodation - We were warmly greeted upon arrival and given a quick tour of our cottage. Spacious cottage, comfortable furniture, incomparable views. We had everything we needed for a"home" away from home for the week. This was an excellent location for touring the area and we grew to love the little lanes and country views as we headed out each day. Our host provided a local tour book as well as suggested sites and walks in the area which was an extra-added bonus for us. I highly recommend this cottage and a visit to this beautiful part of England. "
"Excellent Holiday cottage. Warm, spacious, has all the requirements you need to either snuggle down in a blizzard or venture out into the beautiful countryside. Lovely kitchen, one that cooks who like to experiment can enjoy and make the most of local food. Beds very comfortable, all ensuite & downstairs bedroom/shower room perfect for my elderly parents. Our dogs were made most welcome, with no quibbles about size or hidden extra costs, and they enjoyed themselves too. Plenty of walks direct from cottage, but you have some of the best of Yorkshire within a half hour drive. Check out VV Farm website for full details of where to go and what to see, but NY Moors railway, Whitby and Rievaulx Abbey all a must see. We have stayed four times, all in depths of Winter (and we are talking serious snow here), but had fun as in 4x4s. This cottage has an extra to be found no where else! Ladies, this is the home of Ample Bosom, a fantastic place to purchase some fabulous underwear. This is farm diversity at its very best. You can try on what you want, while you stay. Finally, this is a seriously welcoming stay, with a lovely Yorkshire Tea on arrival, all the comforts you might need, and the loveliest of hard working people on hand to help if required. "
'Sally, I just wanted to say thank you for our lovely stay this weekend in your Granary Cottage. It was perfect and was enjoyed by all of us. It was so clean and welcoming that we really felt at home straight away allowing us to relax and enjoy our break. The beds were fantastic and we will certainly be booking again. Fantastic views and fantastic value for money. Thanks'
'Ann and I had such a lovely few days in Formicary Cottage. The cottage was immaculate and very comfortable. We really appreciated being able to bring our dogs with us, and you and your helpers made us feel very welcome. We wished we could have stayed longer and watched the house-martins raise their chicks, and the blue-tits nesting in the pump. Not sure how you managed to arrange the wonderful weather!
We shall certainly return to stay with you again. Many thanks for making our holiday so enjoyable.'
“Very comfortable and enjoyable stay.”
“Quiet location with good access to local walks.”
"17 of us, as one family, had a great long weekend here in October and found the cottages fully equiped with everything we needed. The views are stunning and the rooms all very clean and comfortable. Very well heated for the dullest of days, lovely comfortable beds and thick duvets. We were near enough to all the sights and York proved to be a good day out for some whilst others liked Scarborough and we liked Eden Camp WW2 museum. We all had lunch at The Feathers in Helmsley - carvery- excellent for our group aged from 7 to 87. Definately recommended."
‘A very warm, comfortable and welcoming visit, all equipment is very clean and in good working order. We would like very much to return in the future and will definitely be recommending you to our friends’
‘We’ve had a wonderful weekend – so comfortable. Every amenity was here – thank you so much for letting us bring our dog and for making this cottage so warm and cosy’
‘Lovely clean, spacious cottage in beautiful tranquil location. Well equipped for children and adults! Will come again. Thank you’
‘A really enjoyable, comfortable few days, with everything we needed. Thank you very much’
' Warm, inviting, as comfortable as usual, lovely welcome and friendly help, always beautifully clean and tidy. Big plus being able to bring dogs with no fuss - usual response to cottages is 'one small dog only' - useless to us'
"The scenery is wonderful, the cottages are clean and have all the home comforts making for a great, relaxing break. The walks from the farm are great and it's wonderful to see the animals on the farm. Sally and her staff are always so friendly. Sara "
"As soon as you walk through the door to the slice of cake and tea tray waiting for you the relaxation washes over you. Great walks and dog friendly! Love it! Sarah"
"A peaceful haven away from the hustle and bustle of life The cottage was cosy and warm with all the home comforts including deliciously snuggly duvets. We do not do walking or cycling but the farm was a wonderful base to come back to in the evenings. There are many superb restaurants nearby and the scenery is spectacular. The weather was horrible for most of the time we were there but it didn't dampen our enthusiasm and we we will definitely be going back. Thank you Sally. Sue"
